farmer
Hamilton Horne aka "Hydro Ham" is the owner and operator Of King Tide Farms. He spent his childhood growing up on Sullivan's Island. As a 3rd generation farmer, his passion for food began at an early age. He attended Bishop England High School then went on to college at Ole Miss where he really dove into the F&B industry. After graduation he bounced around different jobs, but always felt a calling to the world of cuisine. Eventually, he went to volunteer in Hope Town, Bahamas after Hurricane Dorian, where he truly saw the importance of the quality of our food. There, Hamilton realized that even when everything seems lost, someone cooking you a warm meal can change your outlook on the world. With that mindset, and even further reinforcement from the pandemic, he realized even more the need for healthy local produce that is readily available year-round, unaffected by global supply chains and logistics.
